Finally back in nature. We have been camping every night, but we have been spending so much time in cities. The cities here are amazing but I would far rather look at a mountain or an ocean than a building!!
Someone actually lived in this building. It took us 3 hours to walk here from the closest road.

This requires a little bit of an explanation. Our first night in Morocco some local people came and spoke to us whilst we were eating dinner. They invited us back to their place in the city after we had finished. We went and had tea. We spent the next 5 days with them. They showed us their country and their culture. We spent 3 days and two nights in this village with a large family on their farm. The whole experience was pretty amazing!

We were looking for surf for most of the time Pani was with us, that led us to a small town on the coast called Ericeria. We looked around for a few spots to camp before coming across this abandoned house about 10 minutes north of the town. It was directly above these cliffs, surf checks have never been so easy.We spent two weeks camping in this field.
There was no shower so this is how we were trying to get clean. Two weeks showering out of a bottle and a shower head has never felt so good.

This is how we have been living for the last two months. Driving around in that little car (Fiat Punto). It cost us 400 pounds in London. We drive look at things, park, camp, surf, swim, just kind of what ever we find on the day. There are no plans of anything ever we just look at a map and point to a town, if it sucks we move on if its good we stay a few days.

I have 6 rolls of film to get developed, I have been in London, Copenhagen, Paris, Hossegor and to Lisbon, we have driven the whole way along the coast mostly in the last month or two. We are sleeping in an old field next to an abandoned house at the top of a giant cliff in Portugal at the moment waiting for waves. There is not much of anything especially internet! Coney Island is one of those places, if there is somewhere else in the world that is anything like it, I have not seen it and I am not sure I ever will. The people watching there is second to none, its a constant montage of the strange mixed with the completely absurd, it backs onto large projects and has a constant stream of tourists. It just creates an unimaginable mix of people. I wish I could upload the first and fourth photo far larger than they are because there is just soo much going on in both of them.

Panama was pretty fun got a few wedges and a few little barrels and went to the Panama Canal.

So the Panama Canal was possibly the most boring thing I have ever seen, EVER! I suppose it could probably be pretty cool if you like engineering stuff and I will admit it sounded impressive on paper but I just wanted to die. haha.

I spent a few days on a boat sailing from Colombia to Panama through the San Blass islands, we slept on tiny deserted islands, swum, snorkelled, I paddled around some little outer reefs and tried not to cut my knees open trying to skim across half an inch of water. There were tribes of people just living on these islands, hundreds of tiny islands that took 15 minutes to walk around completely, some were far smaller and some bigger. They do everything by boat, a few have motors but most do not.

Conoce Venezuela.

I went to Venezuela for a short period of time, two weeks maybe. I hitch hiked across the border from Colombia into Venezuela. It was an intense line of contrast from one country to the other. I would have liked to spend more time there but there are a few funny things about the place that make it difficult. The main one was that you get a conversion of 15bolivars to 1 for a US dollar so if lunch is 45 Bolivars thats $3 which is good. But if you take money out there you get a set exchange rate of 4.6 or something like that which makes things 3 times more expensive straight away. Your card will NEVER work either in ANY atm. The country was amazing though! 50 litres of petrol cost about 40 cents as well.

Graffiti was made legal in Venezuela by Hugo Chavez, who as far as I can understand then went about paying people to write political slogans every where for him. It does lead to some of the funniest graffiti I have ever seen though, unfortunately most of the time it was when I was driving and could not take photos. Half of it is just anti United States slogans as well haha.

Ok so there has not been updates for a while and it might be a little bit longer because I have no cameras left. This is a direct result of my not thinking with my brain.

It was a Wednesday or Thursday night, I can not exactly remember but I had just bumped into a friend who I used to live with back in Byron Bay walking down a street and a city in Colombia. I was with another guy called Mat and we all went out to get a drink. I was not drinking as its not something I do but I went to hang out and catch up. After a little while sitting at this bar two girls walked past, both very attractive. One looked at me and then grabbed her friend and pointed at me, I was like haha ok then. I kind of half waved and they waved back and called me over. I jumped over the rail and walked down to talk to them. They spoke no English and after a conversation in Spanish they gave me their numbers and I walked back to where we had been sitting. A little later that night I called them to see what was going on. We met up and started to walk back to where Mat and I were staying. After this it all gets a little hazy, the next thing I remember for sure is waking up 3 days later. I had been to the hospital and been apparently talking on and off for the last 24 hours. I can not remember any of it!

The next thing I realized was that all my stuff was gone haha.

Basically what happened was they gave me some drug that can be blown into your face or rubbed into your skin, or put in a drink but I was not drinking so thats not possible and it knocks you out for a while. The cops knew the name of the drug and said it was pretty common for this to happen to tourists.

Basically I got so played haha damn pretty girls! But now I have no stuff. I am back in New York City looking for new camera gear though. So soon hopefully.

I went and spent a week staying in this dried up old oil town called Lobitos and surfing. There was a bunch of waves, two tiny shops and a handful of houses.

Everyone built boats on the beach.

This was where I stayed, no water, no toilet, no windows, well one front one but the rest were boarded up. $3 a night haha

I had been waiting to go here since I was about 8 years old, our trip had a few problems, mainly the shockie on the back left snapped off and the car was sitting on the tyre. They managed to fix this with an old tyre tube but no one was having any of it because we were so high up in the air going around crazy mountains. This was an ongoing problem because they kept trying to get us to go back in the truck. Everyone had some sort of problem with this, I was just completely in awe of where I was!

I am currently in a small town called Baños, it took me almost 24 hours to get here when it should have been ten. I have not been anywhere for about 2 weeks that develops film. Everywhere I go has dirty muddy roads and small local markets and a few shops that sell the odd western item but mostly the towns are tiny and I am still waiting to arrive in one with a film processing lab. I have two rolls of film to develop so updates as soon as I can.

I walked for four days with a group of people along the Inca Trail to eventually arrive at Machu Pichu. The things I saw along the way were pretty mind blowing and Machu Pichu had been somewhere I had wanted to go for a VERY long time.

16th century library. The pages were made out of sheep skin and were filled with religious texts. I could have spent forever in here taking photos but 1, we were not allowed to take photos at all, I got this one on the sly and we had to stay behind some shitty rope and could get no closer than that. But it was soooo amazing!!

I went for a surf in Lima, the water smelt like sewerage, the water was as cold as Melbourne in the middle of winter, climbing over the rocks I had to navigate through glass and many planks of wood with multiple nails sticking out, and it was about as easy to get as wave as surfing the Pass in the middle of summer. But I was sooo stoked! First surf in 3 months.

I spent two weeks in NYC staying in Bedstuy with Camilla and Corey. It was an awesome place. It is the neighbourhood where Biggie, Jay Z, Mos Def, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Talib Kweli, Big Daddy Kane, GZA and a bunch of other famous African American entertainers grew up. There was so much culture there, I could not get enough of it and after biking round Brooklyn and Manhattan for 2 weeks I saw a fair bit of it. New York was one of the most amazing places and I am so far from done with it!!!

I heard 2 days before the show that Agnostic Front were playing in New York and only being a few hours away I figured I could not miss it seeing as they were pretty much the first hardcore band ever!! And they were playing in their home town. When I got there I was pretty much the youngest person there, there were the biggest guys ever walking around in DMS thugcore member for life shirts and just so many guys there staunching so hard. I felt a little intimidated at first but everyone was super nice and talkative as well. There were about 50 guys packed into a room 15ft by 7ft.
It was the realest show I have ever been to. There were no fights, no one was there to start shit, everyone was there because they genuinely loved hardcore! After the last song Roger Miret ( the lead singer) said "thanks for keeping it real and not fighting, it always makes it so much better!"

This would not be important to many people, and I personally do not know anyone that has been there, but as it is one of my favourite books and has been for a few years now, I was super excited to see it! I swam across the whole pond and spent at least 20 minutes in the middle just treading water. To me it was amazing! To others it is just a hole in the ground full of water.

I climbed another mountain, it was another part of the Appalachian Trail it was called Mount Moosilauke. This one was sooo much colder though as it was up in the north eastern section of New Hampshire. I do not think it got above 10 degrees the whole time I was up there and when I climbed to the summit it was so bitterly cold that sleet covered my clothes and bag as soon as I got above the tree line. I could not see 10 feet in front of me either, but it was still amazing seeing as I had never been in that kind of climate before. I camped for three and a half days by myself and did not see a single sole for at least 24-36 hours until a crazy old guy that called himself Mountain Mike came along with his little dog Pumpkin and ate lunch and smoked the resin out of his weed pipe. He had been hiking for a month already by himself and had at least a month to go he said.

I spent 13 hours in New York before I headed back to Baltimore for Bane, TUI, Cruel Hand and Alpha & Omega. We arrived at 3:30am from D.C, went inside and I headed straight for the roof. For as long as I can remember I had always wanted to sleep on a roof top in New York. I think it stemmed from listening to so much rap when I was younger and watching so many movies with guys like Method Man and other various rappers in them based in and around New York. Anyway I woke up as the sun was just peeping over the horizon and stood up and looked out towards the middle of New York, I could just make out the middle of the city through the morning haze, I took a few photos and lay back down and fell asleep. When I awoke a few hours later Old Dirty Bastard was being blasted from a window across the street, it was warm and sunny and I just lay there watching the pigeons flying around above my head. I was in love with the fact I got to live out a fantasy I had had since I was a teenager. And the straight New York gangsta rap made it so much more authentic.
One thing I noticed which was so consistent with all the movies I used to watch was that all the people had pigeons on their roofs as pets in cages, they just flew around in big packs above my head the whole morning.
